Plymouth is a thriving city, well-regarded for its overall high quality of life.

Quality of life is grounded in ensuring sound and well-maintained infrastructure, reliable high value core services, access to affordable housing, excellent parks and recreation, streets and neighborhoods where we can feel safe and secure, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion for ALL of Plymouth’s residents.

In my first term, we’ve achieved significant strides to create affordable housing in Plymouth, including establishing 4D housing and Housing Improvement Area (HIA) programs, an Inclusionary Housing Policy, a Planned Unit Development (PUD) policy, and allowing Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). These programs and initiatives help ensure Plymouth can be home to all.

We’ve also invested in a robust cadet program to recruit and develop excellent police and fire staff, and invested in numerous enhancements throughout Plymouth’s parks and recreational programs, including the creation of Plymouth’s first cricket pitch.

Thes accomplishments have been achieved all while keeping the lowest tax rate among comparable metro-area cities because our commitment to excellence has included being thoughtful stewards of resources and ensuring high value for Plymouth’s residents.

Plymouth is home to beautiful parks, lakes, wetlands, and ponds supporting a vast ecosystem all around us.

Our community leaders must be stewards of this environment to ensure its beauty and health is maintained for generations to come.

And, while preserving our environment begins locally, Plymouth can also take steps having an impact beyond our community borders.

As your city council representative, I have supported the preservation and protection our environment, including pursuing a climate action plan and an energy action plan, establishing citywide compost collection, adding solar power to fire stations and city hall, and updating our policy for the use of solar throughout our community, conducting a detailed tree inventory, and joining the Green Steps program, now nearing completion of Step 2 of 5.

Community members can now keep bees in Plymouth. We have prioritized removing excess salt from our waterways, taking critical steps to improve our waterways by utilizing best practices in wastewater management.

A flourishing community must be a community that is good for business. A strong business community benefits both the business owners and the residents it serves, and plays a central role in advancing economic opportunity critical to the future of a healthy community.

Ensuring a healthy business community requires vision in development, zoning, and attracting business investment.

In my first term, we have updated zoning and added roundabouts to welcome development in City Center, worked with a range of governmental partners to improve the Station 73 and TRIP intersection along Highway 55, welcomed visionary redevelopment at The Boulevard, supported DEED grants for Phillips and the CHIPs Act for Honeywell, key players in Plymouth’s thriving medical device industry.

Businesses are growing in Plymouth with the launch of Hello! Plymouth, a destination marking organization to encourage visitors to all that Plymouth has to offer.

The health of Plymouth’s business community has been one of my key guideposts as your city council person.
